One of two students who accused Virginia Tech football player George DelRicco of assaulting him has, himself, been found guilty of assault and battery. Montgomery County District Judge Thomas Frith fined Jesse Phillips 250 dollars for hitting DelRicco over the head with a beer bottle at a Blacksburg bar called Top of the Stairs.
In a separate case, the judge is still hearing testimony that the feud may have led to a fight outside the same bar three weeks later. Philips and his roommate, Sean Elko, claim DelRicco, Tech quarterback Jim Druckenmiller and two brothers, John and Chris Bishock, jumped them.
