A four year old Atlanta girl was on the D-C nine, but was not on the passenger list.
ValuJet officials say she was old enough to be included on the flight manifest and they're investigating why she was not.

The Bedford County woman who ditched her plane in Smith Mountain Lake spent today recovering from her injuries, while dive crews salvaged the plane.

It took about five hours to find the aircraft, float it to the surface and tow it to a nearby boat ramp.
Working in water that was forty feet deep with about three feet of visibility, divers had their work cut out for them.

The plane's nose gear was torn up but the aircraft was otherwise intact.
After taking the wings off, crews towed the entire plane back to the airport.

She is in hospital, but her condition is not available.

A convicted child molester- who lived in Franklin County for the past several years- has been sent back to Florida to serve his time.
Jerry Griffis was a suspect in the death of his infant son here in February.
Franklin County authorities were developing a case against Griffis, but the 26 year old fugitive was returned to Alachua (ah-LATCH-you-uh) County for sentencing.
In 1990, Griffis left Florida in the middle of his trial but was convicted anyway. He faces multiple life sentences.
