A convicted child molester- who lived in Franklin County for the past several years- has been sent back to Florida to serve his time.
Jerry Griffis was a suspect in the death of his infant son here in February.
Franklin County authorities were developing a case against Griffis, but the 26 year old fugitive was returned to Alachua (ah-LATCH-you-uh) County for sentencing.
In 1990, Griffis left Florida in the middle of his trial but was convicted anyway. He faces multiple life sentences.
