Medical officials rushed Brayton to Methodist hospital, but he was pronounced dead at 1:50 eastern time.
Track officials confirmed his death at 5 o'clock.

In the second game, Trenton State beat Allegheny 1 to nothing.
Trenton and Simpson play for the winner's bracket title at 1 tomorrow.
Tonight, Ithaca and Wisconsin Stevens Point were knocked out of the event.
Allegheny and Chapman advanced in the loser's bracket with wins tonight.

The NCAA division three baseball tournament will be in Salem next week, and city officials would love to Ferrum in the eight team field.

This afternoon in the south regionals in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the Panthers took their first step toward Salem by coming from 3 runs down to beat Emory University 4-to-3 in 11 innings.
They play Methodist tomorrow morning at 11.

In absolutely horrible conditions Faldo hits seeing-eye hole in one that jumps in the hole on two bounces.
Had it not gone in the hole it may still be rolling along in the wind.

State police are now using a new device they say can stop high speed police chases much more safely.

Officers say if a stop stick had been available during a high speed chase from Bedford to Roanoke County last March, this crash may not have happened.

The device can be deployed in thirty seconds and is said to be safer than any other method officers would use to stop a chase.
