A teenager from Narrows is dead following a diving accident this evening.
Giles County Rescue Squad Lieutenant Rodney Freeman says the victim slipped as he was preparing to dive off a cliff into Wolf Creek.
He hit his head on some rocks on the way down, and plunged about 30 feet into the water.
Freeman says a friend pulled the victim out of the water and started C-P-R.
It happened just before eight o-clock at a popular swimming area off route 61.
The victim was pronounced dead at Giles Memorial Hospital almost two hours later.
Police have not released the victim's name.

A company that specializes in marine salvage operations is moving heavy equipment into the Florida Everglades to search for clues to the Valujet crash.

Next week Resolve Towing and Salvage will dredge for what's left of flight 592, and lift the remains that are embedded in limestone beneath the murky waters.
All 110 people on board were killed when the aircraft took a nosedive into the swamp.
Officials are currently conducting hand searches for human remains.
They're worried the heavy equipment will disturb body parts, or the evidence investigators need.
Only about 20 percent of the human remains have been recovered so far, and only eight of the victims have been identified.

Radford Police are looking for the person who injured three people from Roanoke last night.

According to police the victims were in their car at the intersection of Wadsworth and Rock Roads.
They told police they noticed a gray hatchback behind them, then heard gunshots.
24 year- old Traci Waldron, her two year- old son, and 22-year old Clifton Hollande all suffered gunshot wounds in their arms.
Police say the hatchback turned left onto Rock Road and drove away.
Waldron also turned, but wrecked her car near Fletcher Road.

Morgan is a white man, with blue eyes and wears glasses.
He's five- foot -7 and weighs 165 pounds.

Morgan was last seen wearing Khaki pants and a pale- yellow button down shirt.
His family says he needs medicine for a medical condition and he may be disoriented.

And she hopes to break the gender barrier and attend college at the Citadel in South Carolina.
Last year Mellette took Shannon Faulkner's place in a lawsuit challenging The Citadel's all-male admissions policy.
Faulkner dropped out of the Citadel during her first week at the school.
Mellette's case is still being argued in court.

The Dynamo exploded for a goal in the first period on the penalty kick. Steve Weiger gets the ball past the Riverdawg goalie for a one to nothing lead.
The Dynamo came right back a few moments later after a couple of head shots in front of the goal Weiger again boots it into the net and the Dynamo took a 2 to nothing lead.
Roanoke prevented the shut out SUPER=34-Carolina/==4/Roanoke/==1;with

some nice work in close. Jeff Knittles boots it to Ian Spooner who scores the goal to make it 2 to 1 but the Dynamo wins it 4 to 1.

Mark Martin won his fourth Busch race of the season taking the checkered flag Charlotte in the Red Dog 300.

Martin had a strong car this afternoon and he was the leader at the halfway point averaging just over 160 miles an hour.
The race was caution free until Jeremy Mayfield gets loose hits the wall at the top of the track and slides down and hits the inside wall on lap 160 bringing out the first yellow flag.
Martin made a quick pit stop and he would lead the race the rest of the way winning his fourth Busch race of the season.

Today's fight was considered her graduation-- she has now reached the highest level bullfighters can attain.
The 24 year-old Spanish woman killed the bull with the first thrust of her sword, which is considered a great skill in bullfighting. (----------------)
