((It was guilty verdicts all the way around. Jim Mcdougal guilty
on 18 counts of fraud and conspiracy.
Susan Mcdougal guilty on four counts
of mail fraud. Arkansas governor Jim Guy Tucker guilty on two counts of
fraud and conspiracy- all felonies.
The charges surrounded some three million dollars in federally backed
loans. Prosecutors claimed and the jury apparently believed were obtained
illegally.
Following the verdicts governor Tucker announced he would resign to
appeal.

I CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT EXPECT THE PEOPLE OF OUR STATE TO BEAR THAT
BURDEN.
The Mcdougals are the one-time whitewater business partners of
President Bill Clinton. The president, while not a defendant in the
trial was subpoenaed by the Mcdougal's to rebut claims by former Arkansas
judge David Hale who alleged then Governor Clinton pressured him to make
illegal loans to Susan Mcdougal, a claim the president vehemently denied.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, President Clinton refused
to speculate on whether the jury believed his testimony.
PRESIDENT CLINTON: ON A PERSONAL LEVEL I'M VERY SORRY FOR TUCKER AND MCDOUGAL.
While refusing to comment on the long-term implications of the
verdicts, Whitewater independent counsel Kenneth Starr did remind
reporters this is not the end of it.

hard inside!
Welcome to the Oldsmobile Golf academy, a traveling training, teaching pro
shop on wheels that uses old fashioned technology
Nat Sound Bridge of Instructor
and some high Tech computer technology to help people improve their golf
games on the spot.

For the past year, the Oldsmobile academy with the help of associate sponsors
like Top Flite, has been canvasing the country turning Olds dealership
showrooms into makeshift courses.
Harvey's in Radford played host to the caravan for the first two days of this
week, and even the owner drove his swing in for a tune up.

The academy is looking to expand on the 120 stops it made in its first year
partially because of its popularity and largely because it's proven itself as
an effective tool for selling cars.

The academy also featured a pro shop that dressed up more than swings. In

A new museum opened today in London, but you can't really say it opened in
a big way.

That's because it claims to be the world's smallest museum.
Only one person can fit into the room at a time.
Britain's tallest man was there but he says he doubts he'll be a regular
customer.
While the museum is small, it does have it's own refrigerator... at least
for today.
The Fridge- William Perry was an official visitor.
Currently the museum is offering a display on the history of gin.
