Police confirm the two women whose bodies were found on Saturday had their throats slashed.

It was in the news 15 years ago this month.
Two hikers from Maine who were walking the trail together were killed near a shelter in Giles County.
Bob Mountford was shot to death-- Susan Ramsay was stabbed.
Randall Lee Smith of Pearisburg was charged with the murders, but a surprise plea-bargain spared him a life sentence.
Smith is now 42-- he's scheduled to walk out of prison in a few months.
