Heading into Tuesday's Republican primary, Senator John Warner appears to hold a strong lead over Jim Miller.
But the latest News 7 poll suggests turnout will be a significant factor in the election.
(----------------)
VO-NAT

For the first time in the primary campaign, Warner's support among likely voters has climbed above 50 percent.
The survey gives the incumbent a lead of 16 percentage points over Miller, with only ten percent of those polled still undecided.
Among republicans, Warner's lead is just four percent.
But the margin increases to double figures among independents.
And 70 percent of the democrats who say they intend to cross over in Tuesday's election give Warner their votes.

Warner's support is strongest among voters who do not traditionally vote in republican nominating elections.
