to calm a teenager and END a stand-off outside a Roanoke convenience store.
In the end, the officer decided he had to act to keep the boy from injuring
himself or others.

The U-S Attorney's office in Roanoke says from May 1994 through May 1995,

banks in a 350-million dollar computer
leasing scam.
Edward Reiners pleaded guilty yesterday in Richmond to bank fraud and money
laundering.
He faces a maximum of 50 years
in prison and one-and-a-half million dollars in fines when he's sentenced
October 21st.
The 51-year-old Reiners pretended he was still working for Philip Morris on
a SECRET tobacco research project to convince the banks to lend money to lease
computers.
