A fiery crash on route 2-20 in Botetourt County leaves two people dead.
Traffic was backed up for four hours following a fatal wreck just south of
the Alleghany County border.
A tractor trailer carrying logs collided with a car around four- thirty.
State police say the truck was in the northbound lane when an Isuzu Impulse
swerved in front of it.
The car was lodged underneath the truck as it skidded another 60 yards.
Then the car exploded.
The passenger from the car was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead
at the scene.
The driver died in the explosion.
So far police can't identify either of the accident victims because of the
subsequent fire which actually melted the car's license plates.
The truck driver, Johnny Douglas Roach, suffered minor injuries.
