Police were called for a disturbance there and minutes later a man was shot in the hallway outside the night club by an unknown assailant.
Witnesses say the two men had been arguing prior to the shooting.

26- year- old Edwin Bradley of College Park, Georgia was shot once in the chest and died later at Lynchburg General Hospital.
No arrests have been made.
The Glass House also was the scene of Lynchburg's first murder of 1996, when Robert Allen was shot to death January 21st.

Police say he walked a few blocks to a relative's home and called 911.

Authorities also believe that an argument took place in the vicinity of the Woody home shortly before the deaths were reported... but they don't think there was a struggle in the kitchen.
Malcolm Woody told police he was asleep before discovering the bodies... and heard nothing.
At this point the causes of death have not been determined.
Police are still waiting for both autopsy results.

Arson investigators have sifted through the rubble of a fire in a historic church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The wooden sanctuary at Matthews-Murkland Presbyterian Church is the latest in a series of fires to hit black churches in the South.
Just before eleven last night several residents who saw the flames shooting through the sanctuary roof reported the blaze.

Officials predict they'll have firebreaks around the blaze by Monday night.
Winds have died down, the humidity is higher and rain is in the forecast.
President Clinton plans to issue a disaster declaration which would make the area eligible for federal aid.
41-thousand acres have been scorched, hundreds of homes destroyed and hundreds of people have been evacuated.
Damage estimates have reached five- and- a- half million dollars.

A new study suggests AIDS may be transferred during oral sex.

Experiments were conducted at Harvard and Tulane Universities.
Researchers injected an AIDS causing virus into monkeys' mouths and they easily contracted the disease.
The study published in the journal "Science" says results of this experiment indicate that oral sex may pose as great a risk of AIDS-virus infection as other forms of sexual contact.

One person is dead following a FATAL shooting outside a Lynchburg night spot early this morning.

Police were called to a disturbance at the Glass House restaurant around 2:00.
That's where a man had been shot once in the chest during an argument in the hallway outside the night club.
He died after being transported to Lynchburg General Hospital.
He's been identified as 26- year- old Edwin T. Bradley of College Park, Georgia.
Investigators are still talking with witnesses, but no arrests have been made.
This is the second fatal shooting at the Glass House this year.

Family and friends are trying to figure out what killed a Patrick Henry High School student.
Yesterday, 17- year- old Brian Sowers died from an undiagnosed illness.
He went into the hospital last month with a temperature of 106 point- 4.
And as Jay Moore reports it's been almost four weeks and there are still NO answers as to why Brian got sick in the first place.

An elderly Tennesee woman is dead following an accident in Wythe County.
It happened yesterday afternoon near the 60 mile marker on Interstate 81.
Police say 70-year-old Ruth Neal of Tazwell was a passenger in a vehicle that ran OFF the road and HIT a truck.
They say the driver of the car fell asleep at the wheel.

Veterinarians are trying to make 31 dogs and cats from the Solid Rock Kennel healthy enough for adoption.

Sheriff's deputies seized the animals when they executed a search warrant at the kennel Tuesday.
The operators, Terry Weaver and Annette Jenkins are charged with 31 counts each of cruelty to animals.
The vet caring for 29 of cats and dogs now says many of them are undernourished and infested with worms.
Weaver has said the kennel was a ministry of his Emmanuel Independent Non-denominational Christian Church.
The church and kennel had closed. Authorities believe Weaver and Jenkins have left the state.

A federal judge has ruled that Virginia's ballot-access laws are UNconstitutional.
Judge Jackson Kiser said the state has a too-early filing deadline for independents who want to get on the Senate ballot.
The deadline is next Tuesday, but Kiser ordered the state to extend it to NO more than 90 days before the election.
Attorneys for the state said the ruling will be appealed.
