26- year- old Edwin Bradley of College Park, Georgia was shot once in the chest and died later at Lynchburg General Hospital.
No arrests have been made.

Researchers injected an AIDS causing virus into monkeys' mouths and they easily contracted the disease.

It happened yesterday afternoon near the 60 mile marker on Interstate 81.
Police say 70-year-old Ruth Neal of Tazwell was a passenger in a vehicle that ran OFF the road and HIT a truck.
They say the driver of the car fell asleep at the wheel.

Veterinarians are trying to make 31 dogs and cats from the Solid Rock Kennel healthy enough for adoption.

Sheriff's deputies seized the animals when they executed a search warrant at the kennel Tuesday.
The operators, Terry Weaver and Annette Jenkins are charged with 31 counts each of cruelty to animals.
The vet caring for 29 of cats and dogs now says many of them are undernourished and infested with worms.
Weaver has said the kennel was a ministry of his Emmanuel Independent Non-denominational Christian Church.
The church and kennel had closed. Authorities believe Weaver and Jenkins have left the state.

A federal judge has ruled that Virginia's ballot-access laws are UNconstitutional.
Judge Jackson Kiser said the state has a too-early filing deadline for independents who want to get on the Senate ballot.
The deadline is next Tuesday, but Kiser ordered the state to extend it to NO more than 90 days before the election.
Attorneys for the state said the ruling will be appealed.

Veterinarians in Pulaski County are trying to make 31 dogs and cats from the Solid Rock Kennel healthy enough for adoption.

Sheriff's deputies seized the animals when they executed a search warrant at the kennel Tuesday.
The operators, Terry Weaver and Annette Jenkins are charged with 31 counts each of cruelty to animals.
The vet caring for 29 of cats and dogs now says many of them are undernourished and infested with worms.

Weaver has said the kennel was a ministry of his Emmanuel Independent Non-denominational Christian Church.
The church and kennel had closed. Authorities believe Weaver and Jenkins have left the state.
