Richard E. Burch comes to the department from Hanover County where he served
as the Deputy Fire Chief and Emergency Services Coordinator.
Burch was selected from 140 applicants and is the current President of the

Out of 50 states, Virginia ranks forty-nineth in providing the public
campaign contribution information.
That's according to a recent study done by Contributions-Watch, a nonprofit
research organization based in Northern Virginia.
The secretary of Virginia's Board of Elections disagrees with the finding,
but says state record-keeping is behind the times.
The Board of Elections is studying ways to improve public access to its
records.

R-B-X Holdings of Roanoke has purchased the Ensolite division of the
Uniroyal Technology Corporation.
Ensolite makes closed cell foam products used in things like pool floats,
life jackets, and automotive gasket devices.
R-B-X does NOT anticipate this will mean any new jobs for its foam rubber
plant in Bedford, which employs more than 800 people.
