Danville's lead prosecutor says from the beginning he acted within the law.

The Reverend Thomas Motley had accused Bill Fuller and his assistant, James

Just prior to the ad's appearance, Motley was acquitted of slapping a

Judge Kenneth Covington dismissed the case saying Fuller and Martin obtained

A federal jury in Roanoke has settled a dispute between the makers of
"Massengill" and "Summer's Eve."
C-B Fleet Company, a Lynchburg firm, sued SmithKline Beecham, a
multi-national company based in Great Britain.
The jury concluded Massengill's advertising claims were misleading.
A television commercial claimed "Massengill cleanses better than Summer's
Eve," though both consist of nothing more than vinegar and water.
Massengill touted its product as better because of a "redesigned nozzle."
Massengill's magazine ads claimed it was "now designed for better
cleansing" than Summer's Eve.
The Roanoke jury said both statement's were "either false or misleading,"
and that "Massengill's conduct was oppressive, designed to harass competition
or in bad faith."
The judge still has to decide what to do about it.
