Just after 4:30 fire crews responded to smoke coming from near the emergency room.

The prisoner at Buckingham Correctional Center filed a lawsuit-- saying his religious freedom was denied because he was not served a "Nation of Islam" diet.

Earlier this week a Federal Grand Jury indicted a woman who may be hiding in that country.

A Lynchburg man faces five years in prison if convicted on federal charges of operating a mail theft ring in central Virginia.
19-year old Jeffrey Scott Wright was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury.
Authorities say Wright and several juveniles stole hundreds of pieces of mail from mailboxes over a several month-long period.
They then allegedly forged and cashed the checks they found, taking in thousands of dollars.
Several of the teens have already been prosecuted in the juvenile court system.
Wright is the only adult to be indicted.
A conviction for Wright could also mean a fine of up to 250-thousand dollars.

A former Danville police officer is suing Chief Neal Morris and his Assistant B-C. Elliott alleging gender discrimination.
Cheryl Bartee (Bar-TEE) was fired last year for allegedly giving false information to a grand jury.
According to Bartee's lawsuit, she was later reinstated but was fired once again for taping a conversation with another employee.
