A construction worker fell to his death yesterday from the roof of Cassell
Coliseum.
Officials say he plunged more than 90 feet.

27 year-old Dewey Wayne Duncan of Pulaski was working for Allen Neely,
Incorporated of Narrows, the contractor repairing the coliseum's roof.
Duncan was pronounced dead at Montgomery Regional Hospital after he fell

A man has died on Smith Mountain Lake in a boating accident.
Authorities say the 24-year man from Woodbridge was killed when the jet ski
he was driving struck a boat yesterday afternoon.
The accident happened at about 1:00 o'clock near the Bull Run section of the
Lake in Franklin County.
The name of the victim has not been released and the accident is still under
the investigation.
Todays death was the first this year involving a boat on Smith Mountain lake
and the first involving a jet ski in at least three years.

Some bad news for workers in Salem.
Yokohama Tire tells News 7 that Price Costco, a large warehouse club chain in
Washington state, is pulling its line from the plant.

(( Employees at Yokohama say the loss of Price Costco equals out to about a
third of the tires they produce each year.
Last winter the Salem plant sent a bad batch of tires to the company.
It even got to the point that Costco demanded that Yokohama dismiss the
people responsible for the mistake.
Yokohama didn't fire anyone, but rather took steps to solve the problem.
From his office in California...
Dan Hunter, Yokohama's Vice President of Marketing said losing Price Costco
was not a result of what Yokohama did or didn't do.
A notice Yokohama posted in the plant said Price Costco simply wanted to cut
down on the number of its suppliers.
Employees say Yokohama currently has a seven million- tire- a- year-
production.
Jim Hawk, the plant manager in Salem says the line will be phased out over
the next year.
He also says there are NO plans for layoffs at least for now.

The rubber products company says unless productivity improves, roughly 300
jobs could be transferred to another Rubatex facility in Arkansas.

prisoner's credit card.

Yesterday Circuit Judge Diane Strickland suspended a two year sentence and
placed him on probation.

Henry County investigators are warning people to look out for a band of
professional thieves.
Earlier this month News 7 told you about a theft ring at tire stores in at
least four different jurisdictions.
The thieves have struck several more times.

in the past week.
Nester says the crime ring is burglarizing businesses in Franklin, Patrick

Local crime stoppers will pay up to one thousand dollars for information.
