For their accuser Ronlyn Eaton, the decision was a bitter disappointment.
She claimed the men offered her a ride home from a Roanoke bar in May of
1995, then forced her to have sex with them.

A dozen members of a right-wing militia group were arrested in Arizona
They were charged with plotting to blow up at least seven government offices
in the Phoenix area.
The U-S attorney in Arizona said the men were suspected of plotting to bomb
the Phoenix police headquarters, and buildings that house the FBI, the Secret
Service, I-R-S and A-T-F, as well as the Arizona National Guard.
The 12 men arrested were members of the so-called Viper Militia and had
apparently been training to build ammonium nitrate bombs and rockets.
Three members of the "Viper Militia" allegedly created a video tape of the
federal building in Phoenix.

The woman who headed up the Wytheville Redevelopment and Housing Authority
will spend the next six months under house arrest.
Federal judge Sam Wilson today placed Clara Whitt on probation for
accepting gifts- -including renovation work on her own home. The pay-offs were
made in return for her tampering with the bidding process on low-income housing
projects in Wythe County.
The 58-year old Wytheville woman had already paid a 10-thousand dollar fine
and paid back 2-thousand dollars.

On any given day, they perform a difficult and largely thankless job, but a
small boy made some firefighters' lives a little brighter tonight.
Six- year- old Zachary Snell was seriously injured in a car accident in
Lynchburg May 17th.
Internal injuries sent Zachary to a Charlottesville hospital for more than a
week, and only last Friday did his doctor pronounce him 100 percent again.
Zachary's first order of business was to come to Fire Station 8 and thank
the firefighters who helped him when he was hurt.

The McClung tradition in Rockbridge County ended today.
Three generations of doctors have served the area for nearly 150 years, but
today marked the end of an era.

The "New York Post" reports Buttafuoco is moving to Hollywood with his
family to pursue an acting career.
Buttafuoco gained fame when Amy Fisher, his 16-year-old lover, shot his wife
in the head four years ago.
He served four months in jail.
Fisher is serving a five- to 15-year sentence for the shooting.
Mary Jo Buttafuoco says the family needs a fresh start.
She also says they are moving because Fisher could get out on parole next
Buttafuoco has one movie reportedly already in the works.
His agent says he'll play a mafia man in "The Underground Comedy Movie" with
Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith.
