In a statement to police, 28-year-old Veronica Janine Via said she
was worried that she could not raise her 14-day-old daughter alone,
so she decided to send her to -- quote -- "a better place."
Via was indicted yesterday on a charge of murdering Jasmine Monique Via at
the Transitional Living Center for homeless people.
An official at the center said Via no longer lives there.

An Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms spokesman says the lucky part came when a
hunter just happened on a group of armed men in a remote forest near Phoenix.

But after the help of a retired NASA scientist this grassroots organization
finally has some hope.
They are planning to do construct a organic vegetation filter system to
absorb the leachate.
But it takes money.

A small boy made some firefighters' lives a little brighter last night.

Six- year- old Zachary Snell was seriously injured in a car accident in
Lynchburg May 17th.
Internal injuries sent Zachary to a Charlottesville hospital for more than a
week, and only last Friday did his doctor pronounce him 100 percent again.
Zachary's first order of business was to come to Fire Station 8 and thank
the firefighters who helped him when he was hurt.
