A holiday outing turns tragic for a group of young people in Amherst
County.
A van carry volunteers from the Job Corp center ran off the road and
crashed leaving one man dead and two others hospitalized.

The accident scene was chaotic.
Injured teenagers were strewn about on stretchers as emergency personnel
from five different rescue squads treated their injuries.
Some were more serious...others suffered scrapes and bruises and were able
to walk away from the crash.
It took more than an hour to get all the victims loaded onto stretchers and
sent on to Lynchburg General Hospital.

Patricia Artz (ARTS) says she told a worker at the restaurant about the
incident and wasn't satisfied with his response.
She's suing for 25 thousand dollars. Health officials temporarily closed
the store after an employee tested positive for salmonella.

Old Dominion Job Corps crashed yesterday on Route 6-35 in Amherst County.

when the accident happened about 12 miles north of Lynchburg.
