Hurricane Bertha is doing what hurricanes are notorious for, defying prediciton.
The storm is stubbornly refusing to turn north, so Florida has ordered half a million people to evacuate its Atlantic Coast.
Hurricane warnings have been posted from central Florida to the coast of South Carolina.
That means hurricane conditions are expected within 24 hours.
A hurricane WATCH extends to the Virginia state line, meaning hurricane conditions could be a threat at some point.
Bertha's top sustained winds still top 100 miles per hour.
