All 230 people aboard were killed.
The crash hits a little too close to home for some people in the area.

Several years ago a group of artists and actors tried to resurrect it as an arts center.

The F-B-I has reversed its decision to stop checking fingerprints of concealed-weapon permit applicants in Virginia.
Officials decided to extend the grace period to next March at the request of Congressman Jim Moran.
Otherwise, the F-B-I can make fingerprint checks only for criminal investigations.

The Commonwealth Transportation Board has approved plans for a new route 4-60 bypass and Interstate connector in Christiansburg.

It's meant to relieve congestion on route 4060 between Blacksburg and Christiansburg.
The project includes a connector with Interstate 81 by way of a new cloverleaf interchange near Falling Branch Road.

Visitors at Paramount's Kings Dominion made a star sighting yesterday.
Actor Bruce Willis was seen at the theme park enjoying a day with his daughters, while wife Demi Moore was busy filming "G-I Jane" in nearby Richmond.
Willis was sighted in the "Hurricane Reef" area going down a 75-foot-high water slide.
Bodyguards were with the star and his family to keep away the curious.
