A Salem woman has died while attending the summer games in Atlanta.
Officials say 44- year- old Vicki White was waiting to see the track and
field events, when she suffered a fatal heart attack outside the Olympic
Stadium.
Her brother, Mark White, was with her when she collapsed.
He says it took emergency crews 15- minutes to get to her.
But police say the 9-1-1 call was made at 7- 56 this morning... and that the
ambulance was there four minutes later.

Union leaders may protest the sale of the American Tobacco plant in
Reidsville, North Carolina.
For years it has employed hundreds of people from the Reidsville and
Danville areas.
Union workers, who have considered buying the plant themselves, may ask
regulators to REJECT the sale.
They say the company that wants to buy it, Commonwealth Brands, will
probably close it.
Commonwealth Brands says it WILL operate the plant.
It calls the union comments incorrect, irresponsible, and uninformed.
At one time the plant employed 1000 people.
Now its workforce stands at about 300.

a Baptist revival when he was 12- years old.
But it wasn't until the late "70's" that he began to research the
possibility.
18- years later Carroll isn't about to pinpoint the exact location, but he

According to Carroll's research, the treasure ended up in Danville after the
Confederates decided to move their government South from Richmond.
The treasure, comprised of 4-thousand Mexican silver dollars, was enclosed
in 49- kegs.
Carroll believes a Confederate supporter named George Trentholm may have
decided to bury the treasure while staying at the Sutherlin Mansion perhaps to
keep the collection out of the hands of the Yankees.
