A South Boston police officer has resigned following a state police
investigation involving allegations of sexual harrassment.
The complaint was brought against Sergeant Dale McKinney by an employee at a
South Boston convenience store.
The woman reportedly told investigators McKinney harassed her at work.
The state police investigation, which got underway in early June, was
conducted at the request of Police Chief Jim Hall.
During that time, McKinney was on leave without pay from the department.
Commonwealth's Attorney John Greenbacker does not anticipate any criminal
charges being filed.

At least 400-people were evacuated, up to 100 houses are threatened by the

increase milk production has been controversial since it's approval by the
F-D-A in 1993.

label products from cows given the hormone.
Opponents of the hormone have said it could have unknown long-term health
effects...but extensive testing found it did not change the makeup of milk.
The Centers for Disease Control is warning American doctors to step up
efforts to look for the human version of madcow disease...the devastating
neurological illness blamed for eight deaths in Britain.
Researchers believe there may be a link between the madcow version and a
rare brain-destroying illness known as (CROOTZFELT-YAKOB) Creutzfelt-Jakob
disease.
Though there is no evidence that the strain found in Britain has been found
here...health officials want American doctors to be on the lookout.

The torch was transferred from a racing wheelchair athlete to a kayaker on
Lake Heartwell in Georgia.
Kayaker Catherine Fletcher was supposed to carry the torch to the middle of

Fletcher's kayak overturned, though tossing both Fletcher and the torch.

186-feet underwater.
Fortunately the mother flame and a backup Paralympic torch were nearby and
passed onto the second kayaker.

dropped by a cyclist in Washington State, a motorcycle following the bicycle
ran over the torch and broke that one.
