A state police investigation has ended with the resignation of a South
Boston police officer.
Sergeant Dale McKinney resigned this evening after an allegation of sexual
harrassment.
The complaint was raised a couple of months ago by an employee at a local

The woman reportedly told investigators McKinney harassed her while at work.
Police Chief Jim Hall requested the investigation.
Commonwealth's Attorney John Greenbacker does NOT anticipate any criminal
charges being filed.
He says McKinney's resignation is consistent with the wishes of those close
