Firefighters near Spokane, Washington continue to battle a wildfire that is threatening several homes.

The fire started yestserday afternoon in dry grass and timber and was pushed about three miles by winds strong winds.
Up to 100 homes near an Air Force base are in the fire's path, and late last night some 400 people had to evacuate.

HAVE REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS.
Last year was an unusually good one for the market.
On average, it has returned 10- and- a- half- percent since 1926, but with some pretty wild swings in between.
DIVERSIFY.
Spread out your investment funds among stocks, bonds, and short- term cash reserves.
KNOW YOURSELF.
If the thought of losing money makes you cringe, don't put everything in the market.
LOOK LONG TERM.
That reduces the pressure to sell since you don't need the money right away.
