Investigators are trying to unravel the details of an apparent
murder-suicide on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The bodies of 18-year-old Heather Marie Meadows and 26-year-old Kevin Ray
Meadows of Waynesboro were discovered by tourists yesterday near an overlook.
Nelson County Sheriff Ronald Wood says both victims had been shot once in the
head.
He says a nine-millimeter handgun was recovered at the scene.
Wood also says the two were married, but may had been separated.

Regional Airport should offer some clues into the cause of the fatal crash.

Meanwhile, a wrecking crew helped to clear away debris from the crash site.
The engine of the airplane was hoisted away from the scene.
But the fuselage won't be removed until later today.
Investigators are planning to stay in the area only for another day.
They hope to have a preliminary report completed by Friday.

doubled.
As a result, the city's victim- witness assistance program has been overrun
with requests for help.
