Twice in the last two weeks, Lynchburg police have investigated a claim of
rape that turned out to be a false report.

The driver of the car was charged with reckless driving.

Doctors at Columbia University report that women who take estrogen
replacement have a much lower risk of getting Alzheimer's Disease than women
who do not take the hormone.
A study, published this week in the journal, "Lancet" monitored 11-hundred
post menopausal women, aged 70 and older.
It found that every year, more than eight-percent of participants who'd
never used estrogen developed Alzheimer's.....among the women who had used the
hormone, that fell to two-pOint seven percent.

He had off-season shoulder surgery and will continue his rehab back to the
majors tonight.
He is the fifth Big Leaguer to play for Salem this year.
He'll also reunite with manager "Moose" McGuire, Swift's catcher in Seattle
for two years.

all-star Jeremy Roenick to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for center Alexei
Zhamnov and right winger Chris Mills.
