Twice in the last two weeks, Lynchburg police have investigated a claim of rape that turned out to be a false report.

But he testified in Botetourt County General District Court he had no knowledge the animals were being delivered to the farm.
Donnie Michaels brought the bovine to the ranch June eighth.

But that testimony was not enough to sway the court's decision.

Commander Ron Coleman was on Eighth Street around 10:30 when a car driving on Polk Street ran a stop sign.
The two vehicles collided... Coleman was treated and released from Lynchburg General Hospital.
The driver of the car was charged with reckless driving.
The police cruiser is a total loss.

The latest research finds a marriage between a smoker and a non-smoker can be a dangerous affair of the heart.

A study published in the journal "Circulation" found people who had never smoked but were married to smokers had about a 20-percent higher risk of dying of heart disease than non-smoking couples.
The study's authors say the finding supports the conclusions of 14 previous studies linking heart disease and secondhand smoke.

Now researchers believe it can delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease.

Doctors at Columbia University report that women who take estrogen replacement have a much lower risk of getting Alzheimer's Disease than women who do not take the hormone.
A study, published this week in the journal, "Lancet" monitored 11-hundred post menopausal women, aged 70 and older.
It found that every year, more than eight-percent of participants who'd never used estrogen developed Alzheimer's.....among the women who had used the hormone, that fell to two-pOint seven percent.
