One person is hospitalized and another is in jail following a 4-county chase last night.
18-year-old David Lucas of Check is in jail after being chased 60 miles by police.
Police say a trooper began pursuing David Lucas at the Pulaski/Wythe County line around 6.
They say Lucas exceeded speeds of 120-miles an hour.
The chase ended when Lucas smashed into a trooper's car near the Washington County/Smyth County line.
He then hit a tractor trailor in the northbound lane.
Tammy Lilly was a passenger in the car.
She was flown to Smyth County Hospital, where her condition has not been released.
Lucas is being held in the Washington County Jail on numerous charges.

A federal judge says Commonwealth's Attorney Bill Fuller and an assistant did NOT violate a former Danville school teacher's fifth amendment rights.
The judge has dismissed the multi-million dollar case against the men as well as the Danville Register and Bee newspaper.
Teresa Hamilton reports-- as part of the decision the Reverend Thomas Motley's attorney was also ordered to pay the newspaper's court costs.

(( The drawn out legal battle waged by Motley against two of the city's prosecutors began more than two years ago.
In February of 94, Motley was CONVICTED of slapping a student with a yardstick.
He later appealed the case to Circuit Court where he was acquitted. take su
Not long after, Commonwealth's Attorney Bill Fuller and his assistant James Martin bought an ad in the Danville Register and Bee.
The ad outlined Motley's prior criminal record which was not admissible during the trial. end su
Fuller says he bought the ad to address erroneous information that had appeared in the newspaper-- while it was still in Juvenile Court.
Reverend Motley was eventually fired from his job as a Danville school teacher.
No long after Motley filed a million dollar lawsuit in Circuit Court-- which was thrown out in June.
In dismissing the federal suit-- Judge Jackson Kiser wrote that the prosecutors' actions may have been questionable but they were acting in their official capacities.

Not only did the receipts have numbers and signatures, some of the cards had not expired.
All of them came from across the street at Leed's Music Store.
It closed several months ago.

A bank spokesperson said merchants are required to keep receipts for five years.
Most of these receipts were dated back to '94.

Eight Virginia colleges have made the top 100 list of Money Magazine as the best college buys in the country. The highest-ranked STATE school was James Madison University in Harrisonburg, at 18th.
Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg was 22nd.
Also on the list were Washington and Lee University in Lexington at 28th, Sweet Briar College at 39th, the University of Virginia at 45th, the College of William and Mary at 63rd, Emory and Henry College at 69th, and Virginia Military Institute at 86th.
