Brandon Avenue was blocked for well over an hour while emergency crews tried
to save him.

An 84- year- old Roanoke man was killed in a three vehicle accident in
George Bogle Hall was driving his Honda westbound toward Salem on Brandon
Avenue when he crossed a double line, apparently to pass the car in front of
Jamie Muse and his family were in the car that was being passed.

Roanoke Police say Hall pulled back into the right lane when he saw a third
car headed his way in the eastbound lane.
He sideswiped Muse's car, and then hit the third car head- on.
Traffic on Brandon Avenue was blocked in both directions for well over an
hour as emergency crews tried to save the man.
No one else in the accident appeared to have suffered any life threatening
Roanoke Police have not completed their investigation into what caused the

Friends remembered Praveen Bhaskaran(bus-kair-in)-- They knew him as Talex.
Tuesday the plane he was flying crashed near MacAfee's Knob.
But the crash was not the topic of this memorial service.
The hundreds in attendance were there to remember how he lived.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the crash, but they
have ruled out engine failure.
That night the Vinton man aborted one landing attempt at Roanoke Regional
Airport because of fog.
Investigators say he crashed when he was circling for a second attempt.
Talex was relying on his flight plan and radar information from the
Washington Air Traffic Control Center.

old boy in an Illinois zoo.

A female gorilla immediately came to the boy's rescue.
BINTI carried the boy about 50 feet before putting him down and moving away.
Rescue workers held the gorillas at bay with water hoses while retrieving

Smith sprained a ligament in his knee during last night's exhibition game
The injury occurred when teammate and offensive lineman Erik Williams landed
on Smith's knee after a six yard run.
Smith walked off the field but was taken to the locker room.
A big trade is on the horizon in the N-B-A this evening.
Reports in Phoenix are saying that all star forward Charles Barkley is
headed to the Houston Rockets.
The trade would send point guard Sam Cassell and Forwards Robert Horry, Mark
