Roanoke Police say Hall pulled back into the right lane when he saw a third car headed his way in the eastbound lane.
He sideswiped Muse's car, and then hit the third car head- on.
Traffic on Brandon Avenue was blocked in both directions for well over an hour as emergency crews tried to save the man.
No one else in the accident appeared to have suffered any life threatening injuries.
Roanoke Police have not completed their investigation into what caused the wreck.

Friends remembered Praveen Bhaskaran(bus-kair-in)-- They knew him as Talex.
Tuesday the plane he was flying crashed near MacAfee's Knob.
But the crash was not the topic of this memorial service.
The hundreds in attendance were there to remember how he lived. ((TOM GLASGOW: HE WAS A SHARING PERSON, A GIVING PERSON BECAUSE OF THE LIFE HE LIVED AND THE EXAMPLE HE SET. HE GAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE HOPE. JODY LYONS: THE REASON HE WAS FLYING THAT PLANE WAS TO EARN HIS GREENCARD. TALEX AT 28 YEARS OLD WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL.))
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the crash, but they have ruled out engine failure.
That night the Vinton man aborted one landing attempt at Roanoke Regional Airport because of fog.
Investigators say he crashed when he was circling for a second attempt.

There has been no evidence that the lack of air traffic controllers lead to the deadly plane crash.

They're working on a campaign to promote the region's auto racing events and heritage.
Four months after closing down due to financial problems, the Quibell Corporation of Roanoke is up and running again.

It has introduced maternity parking spaces, marked by storks, right next to its main mall entrance.

The boy fell about 18 feet onto concrete in an area with seven gorillas.
A female gorilla immediately came to the boy's rescue.
BINTI carried the boy about 50 feet before putting him down and moving away.
Rescue workers held the gorillas at bay with water hoses while retrieving the child.
The boy is in fair condition at a Chicago hospital.

The injury occurred when teammate and offensive lineman Erik Williams landed on Smith's knee after a six yard run.

Reports in Phoenix are saying that all star forward Charles Barkley is headed to the Houston Rockets.
The trade would send point guard Sam Cassell and Forwards Robert Horry, Mark Bryant and Chucky Brown to Phoenix.
All four of those players can become Free agents at the end of the coming season.
Barkley says the trade is a done deal.
