The President formally declared nicotine an addictive drug- which allows
the regulation of cigarettes and smokeless tobacco.
Clinton said more Americans die from smoking related diseases than from
AIDS, car accidents, murders and fires combined.

The regulations include new limits on cigarette ads and sales-

President Clinton got an overwhelming thumbs down from tobacco supporters on

A slumber party turned into a night of horror in Chesapeake-
Police say a neighbor broke into a home- raped and stabbed two girls and
then killed a third girl.
A teenage brother of one of the girls was upstairs.
He was also stabbed when he tried to intervene.
The 19 year old suspect, Curtis Lee, lived nearby- Neighbors say he was
dating one of the girls and was not a trouble maker.

Curtis Lee is in custody.
The conditions of the wounded teens are unknown, but a police spokesman says
their injuries are not life-threatening.
The FBI just a few moments ago confirmed reports that exposive resideue was
found on wreckage of TWA flight 800.
However they are not concluding the plane was bombed.

deaf adults has been approved this week-- they're called Cochlear Implants.
They should open up doors to a whole new world, for some.
It's an advanced bionic hearing device that uses an external speech
processor to electronically convert sound.
Clarion Cochlear Implants consist of a small receiver surgically implanted
under the skin.
Sounds picked up by the microphone in the headpiece are converted by a
mini pager-sized processor into electrical signals that the brain interprets as

to develop cancer.
But,in another study from Israel people taking calcium channel blockers did
not have higher rates of cancer.
Experts are calling for longer, more in-depth studies.
Using low-estrogen birth control pills do NOT put women at great risk for
