42-year old Larry Jerome Stovall was found guilty of taking more than one thousand dollars seized in drug cases.
He was also convicted of misappropriating state police funds used for drug investigations.
Stovall worked as a narcotics investigator until earlier this year.
His attorney tried to persuade the jury the missing two-thousand dollars was nothing more than a bookkeeping error.
Aside from time in jail, the jury also recommended that Stovall pay more than 15-hundred dollars in fines.

Who will help Big East defensive player of the year Cornell Brown and Waverly Jackson up front?
Junior tackle Brad Baylor will replace Price,
and redshirt junior Danny Wheel is at the top of the depth chart to fill the other defensive end spot. Wheel broke a bone in his left hand this week in practice, but should be okay for the Akron game.
Linebacker Tony Morrison will step in for the departed George de Ricco.

Salvage crews are still trying to bring up a chunk of the Titanic's hull.

They're using large balloons filled with diesel fuel to raise a 15 ton piece of the doomed ocean liner.
Diesel Fuel is lighter than water and can take the incredible pressure two and a half miles beneath the North Atlantic.
One previous attempt this week failed when two of the balloons failed to inflate.
Organizers say they merely want to preserve history.
Critics argue the wreckage should be left in place where the Titanic sank in 1912, killing more than 15-hundred people. (----------------)
