A Christiansburg man is dead following logging accident yesterday.

It happened off Taylor Hollow Road in Montgomery County.
The 39 year old man was cutting a tree with a chainsaw when the tree split, and snapped back into his stomach.
A co-worker ran to his aid but was unable to assist.
The victim suffered major internal injuries and died at the scene.
Authorities are still trying to notify relatives and have not yet released his name.

An 81-year old Roanoke County man who survived a two car accident is in stable condition this morning following surgery.
Grover Mayberry drove his Cadillac into an Oldsmobile station wagon yesterday as he turned onto Hollins Road.
The accident CLOSED the road for more than two hours.
Authorities believe Mayberry tried to avoid the accident, but ran off the road, hit a pole and ended up hitting the station wagon car broadside.
Mayberry was not wearing a seatbelt. (----------------)
