A weekend fight in Galax ends with one man is dead and another charged with
murder.
Police responded to a call late Saturday at a restaurant called Roy's
Underground.
Luis Antonio Zecena and Roberto Escobar, both 24, were taken to Twin County
Regional Hospital with knife wounds to the chest and side.
Zecena died at the hospital.
Police are holding 22-year-old Joel Rosas Maldonado in the Grayson County
Jail on 100-thousand dollars bond.
The North Carolina man is charged with murder and malicious wounding.

beginning the new academic year as a completely new institution.
About 80 students at Southern Virginia College will kick off the
the first day of classes today at the four year, co-educational school.
The former all-women's college known as Southern Seminary had been scheduled
to close in May after years of financial troubles.
But Mormon investors took over the school May 13th with a plan to
combine academic rigor with wholesome living.
