A weekend fight in Galax ends with one man is dead and another charged with murder.
Police responded to a call late Saturday at a restaurant called Roy's Underground.
Luis Antonio Zecena and Roberto Escobar, both 24, were taken to Twin County Regional Hospital with knife wounds to the chest and side.
Zecena died at the hospital.
Police are holding 22-year-old Joel Rosas Maldonado in the Grayson County Jail on 100-thousand dollars bond.
The North Carolina man is charged with murder and malicious wounding.

Cigarette ashes may be to blame for a fire that gutted a Vinton apartment yesterday.
The fire marshal says a resident told him she fell asleep with a cigarette in her hand.

98 percent of those voting turned thumbs down on the proposal.

The corporation manages the property and he says the last thing this neighborhood needs is a vacant lot.

And while Hollins is preparing for a new leader, a college in Buena Vista is beginning the new academic year as a completely new institution.
About 80 students at Southern Virginia College will kick off the the first day of classes today at the four year, co-educational school.
The former all-women's college known as Southern Seminary had been scheduled to close in May after years of financial troubles.
But Mormon investors took over the school May 13th with a plan to combine academic rigor with wholesome living.

The Brosville Volunteer Fire Department is getting a helping hand from its community.

Fire officials weren't quite able to reach that goal-- but they did raise more than 20- thousand dollars.
The money will be used to either repair or build a new fire station.
Fire officials say the existing facility is unsound because it's resting on "fill dirt" which has caused the floor to sink.
