Fran the Hurricane is now Fran the storm, but is still dangerous and continues to generate heavy rain in southwest and central Virginia, bringing with it a serious flood threat.
Bedford county Emergency authorities are asking people to call 911 for EMERGENCIES ONLY.

Hurricane Fran began dummping rain on the state overnight before being downgraded to a tropical storm.
the bedford county sheriff's department says route 460 is closed in both directions at buffalo creek because of water on the road.
Power outages and flooding problems have been reported throughout the region.
