Several counties are under a flash flood warning as Tropical Storm Fran charges her way in from North Carolina.

Emergency crews are evacuating families at this hour in Pittsylvania County.
The rescues are taking place by boat in the Fall Creek Community along Route 29.
Authorities are working to open a shelter, in the meantime residents are being sent to local motels.
High winds and rain have created other problems for Danville and Pittsylvania County including countless downed trees and power lines.
The story is much the same in Halifax County.

VO-NAT
SUPER=03-Riverdale/Yesterday;

Route 501 in Riverdale remains closed.
The high water is a result of heavy rain that fell earlier this week causing the Dan River to swell.
More rain could cause serious problems for Halifax County-- because of its downstream location from several bodies of water.
