children in a flooded area has been placed on administrative leave.

The driver picked up the children and took them to a drop-off point, but
stopped because of a flooded road.
The children's parents say seven students were then told to leave the bus

In Gretna, a 60-year old man was killed in a flood-related accident.
John Perkins Senior was reported missing by his family Friday when he never
showed up to a doctor's appointment in Lynchburg.
The Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Department says flood waters swept his
vehicle into a culvert near the intersection of route 29 and 3-64.
Perkins' body was found Saturday night in a stream about a mile from his
car.

County.

over a desk, cleaned out three cash drawers, and then left.

year- old David Ray Martin of Botetourt County.
What took longer to find was the bag of money.

Scientist at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia say they've
developed a synthetic molecule that corrects the gene mutation causing sickle
cell.
The disease affects 50-thousand Americans, most of them black.
It causes flawed, or sickle-shaped red blood cells, resulting in severe
pain and anemia, even death.
Researchers say the gene therapy is not a cure, but it could greatly
relieve the symptoms.
