Twenty-nine deaths are now blamed on the storm which slammed into the North Carolina Coast Thursday night.
The damage is expected to reach into the billions.
One hard hit area was Raleigh, far inland.

A single car accident in Rockbridge County proves deadly for one 36-year-old.
Mark David Chavez of Forest was killed when the car he was riding in ran off Route 11.
Police say the car drove up an embankment and overturned several times, both Chavez and the driver, Michael Todd Powell, were thrown from the car.
Powell was admitted to Stonewall Jackson Hospital, but his condition is not being released.

A Riner man died as a result of a vehicle accident on Friday.
21- year- old Anthony Long died Saturday morning at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
On Friday, Long drove his car off route 6-58 into a creek, killing his passenger 16-year-old Susan Meadows.

Meantime, another big storm is brewing in the Caribbean and residents of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands aren't taking any chances.
Hortense is now some 120 miles south of St. Croix with 80 mile per hour winds.
Early this morning Hortense was upgraded from a tropical storm to a hurricane.
A tropical storm warning remains in effect for the U-S and British Virgin Islands westward through Puerto Rico.

He remains in critical condition.
Shakur and his record producer were shot as they were driving along the city's busy casino Strip.

It was the second time in two years the 25-year-old rap star has been shot.
