won't immediately start processing applications from women.
The State Attorney General says he tried to mollify Justice Department
lawyers yesterday by promising to send out applications a week from Saturday-
-IF the Board of Visitors approves a plan for co-education next week.
The government responded today by filing a motion for an injunction against
V-M-I.

accomodate women ...with "minimal" changes to the Institute.
Since June 26- -when the Supreme Court sided against V-M-I- -54 women have

In the motion filed today, the government says: "after more than six years

killing Adrienne Jones, because of the girl's brief affair with Gramm.
Police say Gramm signed a confession- after his girlfriend told a

just pointed and shot. I was very confused and scared. I fired again and ran to
the car.
But Gramm's lawyer says the statement will not hold up in court.

retired school teacher in Marion last week.

Police found 68 year-old Anna Jean Anderson dead in her home Wednesday
night.
She had been strangled to death.
Police will not say whether they have any suspects.
But they are on the lookout for two people wanted for questioning.

blue mini-van with Tennessee tags.
The couple was seen in the area near the time of the murder, offering free
paper towels and dish detergent to people who let them demonstrate vacuum
cleaners or cleaning products.
