An accident this evening on Interstate 81 has claimed one life.
State police say 31- year- old Hong Lang Hu (WHO) apparently lost control
of his vehicle while traveling north in Botetourt county.
Authorities say Hu crossed the median and struck another car head- on--
killing that driver.
Her name has not been released.
Meanwhile, Hu was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he was treated
for facial injuries.
He's charged with reckless driving.
Both drivers are from Pennsylvania.

Today Kuwait agreed to accept the troops- nearly three days after President
Clinton first announced he would be sending them in.
Some military personnel could be court martialed as a result of Last June's

19 airmen died when a truck bomb exploded near an apartment complex in

Searchers are still pulling up big pieces of T-W-A Flight 800- almost two
months after the crash.
Today, a piece 20 to 25 feet long and seven or eight feet wide was plucked
from the ocean.
Officials says it might have been a piece of a wing or a flap.
The T-W-A disaster happened two months ago tomorrow. The bodies
of 213 of the 230 people on board have been recovered.
O-J Simpson goes on trial tomorrow with no lights, cameras and action.

Business will resume tomorrow for three companies devoured by fire in
Fairlawn on Saturday.
Calvin Powers, who owns the Carpet Shop and Powers Fence says he'll reopen
both businesses in an office building next to the one that burned on route 11.
And a spokesman for Schewel's says the furniture store will open a customer
service office there as well.
Schewel's is looking for temporary space to reopen its STORE in Radford or
Fairlawn within the next few weeks.
The fire nearly leveled the entire shopping center Saturday. Still no word
on how it started.
Two home school supporters have dropped their federal lawsuit against the
Pittsylvania County Department of Social Services and a social worker.

Burgess believes the program will become permanent.
Congressman Rick Boucher has announced more than one million dollars in
federal funds for a new business incubator in Christiansburg.
The Montgomery County Industrial Development Authority will use the money to
renovate the old Imperial Redding plant on Roanoke Street.
Once complete late next year, the building will house small start-up
businesses, as well as light manufacturing.

After starting out as a small child in talent shows, Trisca's performed

After overseeing an eight hour preliminary hearing, Judge Bernard Goodwyn
dismissed the charge after a half dozen witnesses all confirmed that Smith was

The NCAA body slammed Michigan State's program with four years probation
The Spartans broke rules concerning recruiting, benefits, academic
eligibility, ethical conduct and institutional control.
The program will immediately lose seven scholarships next season, plus the
Spartans will be subject to repeat-violator provision for five years. Meaning
any violation before June 2001 will result in the death penalty for the program
for 2 years.
Despite all these sanctions State is still eligible for bowl appearances.
Lady Luck smiled on a Pulaski County couple recently- They picked the
