U-S officials have now downsized the number of troops they plan to send from
five to three-thousand.

who took part in the strike returned home.

Three people died in a two car accident in Halifax County this weekend.
It happened on route 58 at the intersection of route 9-29.
Police say 16-year-old Robert Earl Crowe of Halifax was driving down route
9-29.
As he turned on to route 58 another vehicle smashed into the side of his
car.
Crowe died at the scene.
His passengers, 23-year-old Julia O'Steen Jones and one year old Miranda
Blair Jones, both of South Boston, also died at the scene.

Fire officials say it will be several more days before they can find the
cause of a fire that sent three businesses up in smoke this weekend.

remains of the FairLAWN shopping center.
These hot spots are preventing the county fire investigating team from
looking over the debris.
Fairlawn fire chief Buddy Trigg says it may be Tuesday or Wednesday before
investigators can take a look.
Trigg also says a crane will be used to removed the collapsed roof so
investigators can determine where the blaze began.

lawsuit.
They are being sued by the Republic of Paraguay... because a Paraguayan
national is on death row.

Francisco Breard.
Breard is on Virginia's Death Row for the 19-92 murder of Ruth Dickie in
Arlington.
