Last fall, 61- percent of registered voters didn't even know who he was.
That figure has been cut to 6- percent.
Name recognition has never been a problem for his opponent, Senator John Warner.

As for his lead in the polls-- it has shrunk a little bit since July.
He holds a 20 point advantage over Mark Warner-- with 12 percent of voters still trying to make up their minds.
Two months ago it was a 25- point margin.
