Twelve percent of voters have yet to make up their minds.
In July, the senior Senator had a 25- point advantage.
The poll shows Mark Warner did not steal away any votes from the incumbent.
But he did make in- roads with undecided voters.

Police say Petty tried to pass a car that was in the left lane.
When the other driver slowed down, police say, Petty bumped the car from behind, then drove away.
Damage to the other car was apparently minor.
