The accident happened shortly before seven.
State Police say the driver of a Lincoln Towncar was heading north when a
truck pulled out in front of her.
She swerved to avoid the tractor trailer and crossed the median into the
southbound lane.
The car then struck Young's vehicle on the driver's side.
Young died at Martinsville Memorial Hospital.

A Bedford man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a car last night.
Police say 35-year-old Bradley Steven Lewis was riding his Harley Davidson
on route 6-38 in Bedford County.
He apparently rounded a curve on the wrong side of the road and struck a
van.
The accident happened around six.
Lewis died at the scene.

Galax police are investigating the murder of an elderly man.
Police found 79-year-old Willey Lee Goins stabbed to death in his home on
Robinson Street yesterday afternoon.
State police and state forestry officials are using tracking dogs to assist
in the investigation.
No arrests have been made.
Police say they do not have a motive for the murder.

in January is taking legal action for a second time.

Patricia Leftwich filed five lawsuits yesterday totaling
three-and-three-quarter million dollars against a real estate company.
Moore & Company did repair work at the Stewart Avenue home prior to the
January blaze.
Leftwich says it used combustible materials which may have fueled the deadly
fire.
Moore and Company's attorney said the company had nothing to do with the
house at the time of the fire.
Leftwich settled a seperate lawsuit with her LANDLORD for 270- thousand
dollars.
