A Bedford County sheriff's deputy remains hospitalized after wrecking his police cruiser last night.
Deputy Mark Dooley was responding to a call of shots fired when he lost control of his car on Route 122 just outside the Bedford city limits.
State police say Dooley will "not" be charged in the accident since he was responding to an emergency call.
Bedford authorities are checking into whether steering problems associated with the type of car Dooley was driving may have contributed to the accident.
