when a tractor trailer overturned on Interstate 81.

Sheriff's deputy.
Last night Deputy Mark Dooley was responding to a domestic dispute when he
rounded a sharp curve on route 1-22, lost control and totaled his cruiser.

Bedford authorities are looking into whether a steering problem with
Dooley's patrol car may have contributed to the crash.

There were 11 lead changes among three drivers, but in the end Jeff Gordon
took the checked flag and the money.
Gordon led the race off and on for 123 laps, winning by 0.49 seconds. He
continues to lead in the points race, as well with 3,903 total points.
Gordon also broke Cale Yarborough's 1978 Average Speed Record, clocking an
average speed of 83.992 miles per hour yesterday.
Terry Labonte came in second, Bobby hamilton 3rd, Rick Mast finished a
strong fourth, and John Andretti took fifth place.
