cost every family thousands of dollars to get service back.
Tonight they're asking for help- Joe Dashiell will have the story.

The Roanoke county supervisors say they will do what they can to help a
neighborhood that lost its water supply earlier this month.
But tonight they did not agree to connect them to county water for free.

Danville city council tonight voted in favor of demolishing 76- low income
Housing officials say the move would alleviate overcrowding at Liberty View.
Council also voted to support construction of a learning center for low
income families on the site.
Council, however, voted against replacing the 76- units with section eight

Two people were injured when a small car and a tractor-trailer collided and
caught fire on Interstate 5-81 in Roanoke.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes of 581 near the Hershberger
Road interchange at about three.
The vehicles were driving alongside each other when the CAR left the road.
Witnesses say the car hit the median, and then went under the trailer.
The two people in the car were injured, but escaped, with the help of other
motorists- then the car AND trailer exploded.
The injured were taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, their injuries are not

Franklin County, relatives of the victim try and cope with their loss.
29-year old Clyde Price, Junior was shot several times in the chest and back

Price's girlfriend 24-year old Angela Light was arrested at the scene and
charged with murder.
Her bond was set at 50-thousand dollars. A preliminary hearing is scheduled
for next month.

The cookies mistakenly contain walnuts which are not listed in the

Virginia Windle has lived all of her 75 years in Martinsville and Henry
In those years, she says she's seen a lot.
Now the local historian has published a book with many of her personal
experiences and observations.

He is RU's first state champion since 1990. He is a freshman from
Harrisonburg and this was his first college tournament.
Also today Mike Anderson was named the school's new men's tennis coach.
Anderson has coached in the USTA's adult leagues since 1985.
He inherits a team that includes 8 letterman.
Anderson replaces Bruce Harrison who is now at VMI.

Melbourne's won a trip to Italy for his ability to say the word "pasta."
Normally that would not be newsworthy, but you see Melbourne is a dog.
And he is the winner of a contest sponsored by a dog food company.
