their signatures to a nuclear test ban treaty.

The new treaty bans all blasts.
After signing the agreement the President told the General assembly he wants

For days, the hunt for north korean infiltrators has spread across hundreds
of square miles and taken a deadly toll on both sides...
Several South Korean soldiers have been killed...and so has a civilian
whose fatal mistake was hunting for wild mushrooms on a hillside.
And while the hunt has so far involved no americans, south korea's leaders
are using the presence of 37-thousand US troops as a big stick...
Saying today they want to restart annual war games with the Americans
called Team Spirit...called off last year as a gesture to the north duriog
talks on disbanding North Korea's nuclear program. The North see team
spirit as a threat...preparations for war.
The Americans haven't responded yet to the South's request...but US
officials have said they don't want the North Korean incurwion t disrwpt
the delicate deal worked wt witi the North curbing its nuclear ambitions.
Meanwhile..the war of words is being fought equally hard on both
sides...the South calling the incident a deliberate military provocation.
The North finally issuing a statement insisting the submarine was on a
routine training mission in the North when the engine failed and it drifted
into South Korean water. It is made mostly of plastic to avoid detection by
radar or other senors.
And proving that reality doesn't always figure-in when it comes to these
two countries..the north is now demanding the submarine and it's dead crew be
returned. The answer from the south...not now, not ever.

The Roanoke man was sentenced today in Roanoke County Circuit Court to 15
and a half years in prison.
Obremski had earlier pleaded no contest to making threatening telephone
calls to girls.
The specific charges included making threats to abduct, taking indecent
liberties with a minor and making an obscene phone call.
In a background report prepared for today's hearing, Obremski said he was
the man who stalked grade-school children in the Raleigh Court neighborhood a
while back.

A Franklin County man is dead and his live-in girlfriend is now charged with
murder.
29 year old Clyde Price Junior was found at his Sydnorsville home with
multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and back.
24 year old Angela
Shively Light was arrested at the scene.
She'll be arraigned later today. Price's body has been brought to
Roanoke for an autopsy.

Around 1:45, authorities say the victim dropped off a friend at the

The gunman is described as a light- skinned black male, about 5- foot-6, 140
pounds, wearing a blue ballcap and a blue jacket.

More often than not, the request is granted... and then that person has
access to make long distance... even international calls.
Worst of all the phone company, and long distance carriers are not at fault.
Therefore it's the victim who winds up footing the bill.

If you think it can't happen to you, think again.
Even the Roanoke County Police Department has been on the receiving end of
this scam.
Nearly a thousand dollars worth of fraudulent phone calls were made from
police telephone lines... so TAX PAYERS have ultimately paid the price.
