Davis kidnapped 12-year old Polly Klaas from a slumber party October 1993,
attempted to sexually assault her and then strangled her.

A physician in Craig County has been accused of impersonating a police
officer and brandishing a firearm.
Doctor William C. Anderson was following three young men in a vehicle on
Saturday, September 14th. When they stopped, Anderson allegedly pulled a gun
on them.
Three days later Paul Roy Law swore out a warrant against Anderson.
The 48 year old physician works at the Lewis Gale Family Practice clinic in
New Castle, but he's on vacation this week and could not be reached for
comment.
Doctor Anderson is due in General District Court next month.

Astronaut Shannon is back on firm ground for the first time in six months.

Lucid and the crew aboard the space shuttle Atlantis made their way back to
earth earlier today.
It ended Lucid's record one hundred-88 days in space, most of which was spent
on the Russian "Mir" Space Station.
Officials were prepared to carry her out on a stretcher after her long stay
in weightless space.
But Lucid was able to walk out of the Shuttle under her own power.
President Clinton sent his congratulations to the astronaut over the phone.
