Richmond police have arrested a third man for his alleged role in the murder
of a Pulaski County man.
Authorities say 31-year-old Eddie Gibson was apprehended early today and is
on his way back to Southwest Virginia.

Tazewell County.
22 year-old Darick Dewayne Wetzel was picked up at his Pulaski County home.
Authorities say Gibson apparently drove the victim and the two other
suspects to this spot along the New River.
Investigators say it was there that Fisher was stabbed and held under the
water.
Pulaski County Sheriff Ralph Dobbins says authorities may seek capitol
murder charges.

when her husband pulled the trigger during an attempted murder-suicide.
Wesly Gregory apparently shot his wife, Brenda, before killing himself.

According to authorities Brenda Gregory called 9-1-1 shortly before four
yesterday afternoon to report trouble.
While on the phone with the sheriff's department, she screamed and said her
husband had just shot her and then turned the gun on himself.
When Deputies arrived they found Wesly Gregory dead from a gunshot to the
neck and Brenda Gregory with a wound to her leg.

An Augusta (Uh-gus-ta) County man was crushed to death by his own vehicle.
It happened last night on Route 2-75.
State Police say 43- year old Gary Michael Smith of Staunton was traveling
the wrong way when he drove off the side of the road and became stuck.
Smith was apparently outside of the car when the vehicle rolled on top of
him-- he was pulled about 25 feet down an incline.
Authorities say Smith died at the scene.

leader Yassar Arafat are expected to meet tomorrow.
Diplomatic sources says the summit will be held at the Israel-Gaza border.

Russian and American doctors say Yeltsin is in good spirits and can work 3

step down, saying the country has no sense of direction.

In the first quarter Donovan McNabb tosses the four yard touchdown pass to
Deon Maddox at the back of the end zone 7 to nothing Syracuse.
But the Hokies defense makes the big play. Cornelius White blocks this
punt the ball falls into his hands and he takes it in from 60 yards out to tie
the score at 7 to 7.
Another turnover set up Tech's second score Ken Oxendine goes in from the
one yard line and the Hokies led 14 to 7.
But Syracuse scored two touchdowns in a 2-minute span. On this play
Tebucky Jones reverses field turns the corner and scores from 23 yards out
Syracuse led 24 to 14 at the half.
The Hokies opened the third with a score. Oxendine goes in from three
yards out and the lead was cut to 24 to 21.

Tech/21/;out and hits Quentin Spotwood on the touchdown pass and the Orangemen

Tailback Thomas Haskins scored the first touchdown of the game on this run
and V-M-I took a 7 to nothing lead in the first quarter.
Then with the score tied 7 to 7 Furman's Braniff Bonaventure hits Jos Cole
on the touchdown pass and Furman took the 14 to 7 lead.
But the Keydets came back in the third Quarter. Haskins breaks free and
scores on the 25 yard run and the game was tied again this time at 14.
Furman added 17 more points in the SUPER=36-Furman/31/VMI/14/;third and
fourth quarters and the Paladin's go on to beat the Keydets 31 to 14.
