It may sound strange, but Virginia Military Institute is looking for a few good WOMEN.
The school is sending information to more than 30-thousand college-bound women and

Some unlikely opponents of the death penalty have brought their message to the commonwealth.
Members of Murder Victims' Families for Reconciliation-- stopped in Blacksburg yesterday to promote non-violent alternatives to capitol punishment.
The organization is on a two week tour of Virginia called The Journey of Hope.

Pat Bane has never supported the death penalty and her uncle's murder didn't change her view.
Bane spoke at the Virginia Tech War Memorial Chapel and told listeners that victims' family members often seek closure from the murderer's death.

Walter Fore, the president of the union at the plant, says Griffin Pipe told the rank and file Friday that it's cutting back because it plans to stop manufacturing one of its product lines.
He says he's very unhappy that union members were given such short notice.
