A police chase that ended in a multiple car crash killed a Covington man last night.

The chase started in Alleghany County when police clocked a stolen car traveling close 90 miles an hour.
The state police called off the chase as the car approached a dangerous intersection on Route 2-20 South in Botetourt County.
Police say the suspect, 19 year old Timothy Stocks, continued to flee and slammed into two cars, hitting a grey Volkswagen head on.
The driver of the Volkswagon, 29- year- old Timothy Wayne Mays died at the scene.
One person in the other car was hurt and taken to Roanoke Memorial hospital.
Stocks and a passenger in his car were also taken to R-M-H.
Charges are pending.

Galax have made two arrests in the murder of an elderly man.

A week and a half ago, 79- year- old Willie Goins was found dead in his home.
He had suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest and his wallet had been stolen.
The main suspects in the case were 37- year- old Charles Howard, and 21- year- old (TEE-sha) Tisha Howard-- a married couple who lived nearby.
The two apparently skipped town, but were found Friday in Tacoma Park, Maryland.
They have been charged with first degree murder, but that could change.

Three men are charged with capital murder and armed robbery in connection
with the death of a Pulaski County man. (----------------)

Investigators say 43- year- old Elmer Fisher was stabbed and held under water last week along the New River.
31- year- old Eddie Gibson was apprehended Saturday in Richmond, 27- year- old Joseph Graham Junior was picked up Friday night in Tazewell and, 22- year- old Darick Wetzel was arrested at his home in Pulaski County.
Police think the killing may have stemmed from some kind of dispute between the men.
The three suspects were formally charged yesterday and are being held without bond.

The donation will cover the entire cost of constructing the seven thousand square foot building.
