That was the statement that brought Mark Furhman back to court today-
Prosecutors say he lied on the stand.

A perjury charge was filed against Furhman today.
The former detective entered a not guilty plea.
But it appears he probably won't go to trial.
Furhman has apparently cut a deal with prosecutors- but so far the details
haven't been released.
The judge has set an afternoon hearing to announce whether he'll accept
The perjury charge results from testimony at the O-J Simpson trial that
Furhman had not used a racial slur in ten years.
Several witnesses though refuted that claim.
A felony perjury conviction carries a maximum penalty of four years in

Gang members in California are arrested following several shootings...
including the one that killed Tupac Shakur.
And some bus drivers in Botetourt County threatened to get off at the next

Members of a California gang have been arrested and are being questioned in
connection with several shootings- including the killing of Rapper Tupac Shakur
in Las Vegas.
Police say none of the 21 gang members will be charged right away.
But they say Las Vegas police plan to question one of the people picked up
in the pre-dawn raid in Compton, California.
Those arrested are suspects in a series of shootings.

Shakur was gunned down last month while riding in a car with the head of
his record company. The rapper died a week later.
A shooting suspect allegedly drew a gun on city police officers today.
As a police car drove into the vacant lot at 14th and Chapman about one-AM,
Michael Daniel Jackson spun around and allegedly pointed a gun at them- -in the

When the officers drew their weapons, the suspect fled on foot.
They eventually caught up with him and arrested Jackson for possession of
a firearm by a convicted felon, brandishing a firearm and shooting within the
